Jetpilot The Cause Kids Life Jacket - Red L50

The Cause the grown-ups wear, made for kids.

Kids want what the grown-ups have, and this is the kids' version of the Cause, Jetpilot's best-selling life jacket. A front zip and two buckles hold it snug, a padded crotch strap on the smaller sizes helps stop it riding up, and mesh drainage gussets let water run straight out. The relaxed fit leaves room to move, so they can swim, climb and play in comfort.

Approved to Australian Standard AS 4758 Level 50.

Built for: boat days, jet ski rides and time in the water.

Relaxed Multi-Fit
A relaxed cut with room to move, comfortable over a rashie or a wetsuit.

Pick the size they are now
Kids' lifejackets are sized by weight. Choose the size that matches your child's weight today, not the one they'll grow into: a vest that's too big can ride up.

Find their size

  • 3-4: 15–25 kg, 58 cm chest
  • 4-6: 15–25 kg, 68 cm chest
  • 8-10: 25–40 kg, 74 cm chest
  • 12-14: 40–60 kg, 85 cm chest

Snug is safe
It should feel snug, not tight, when it's dry. It relaxes a little once it's wet, and a loose vest can ride up over their chin in the water.

Check it on them
Zip it, clip both buckles (and the crotch strap on the smaller sizes), then lift the vest at the shoulders: it shouldn't ride up past their chin or ears.

Approved to Australian Standard AS 4758. The Red and Yellow are Level 50; the Blue, Pink and Charcoal are Level 50S. They float the same; Level 50 comes in high-vis colours so they're easier to spot.

On the water
Level 50S is accepted on a jet ski on smooth and enclosed water (rivers, lakes, dams and sheltered bays) in every state, and for towed riders in every state that requires a lifejacket. Queensland requires Level 50 on a jet ski in partially smooth and open water, and Tasmania requires Level 100 or above beyond sheltered water.

Kids on boats
Several states have extra lifejacket rules for children on smaller boats, and the ages, boat sizes and levels differ, so check your state's rules before you head out.

Always within reach
A lifejacket isn't a substitute for watching them. Keep kids close and in sight around water.

Look after it
Rinse it in fresh water after every outing, dry it out of the sun and store it hung up. Check the zip, buckles and foam before each use, and replace it if it's torn, crushed or badly faded.
